3. Review Serpent's Kiss by Thea Harrison
Recently, Vampire Queen Carling's power has become erratic, forcing her
followers to flee. Wyr sentinel Rune is drawn to the ailing Queen and decides to
help find a cure for the serpent's kiss-the vampyric disease that's killing her.
With their desire for each other escalating they will have to rely on each other
if they have any hope of surviving the serpent's kiss...
I love Thea Harrison's books and this one was no exception. I love that Rune is a griffin but was somewhat disappointed in not learning more about that race which she didn't explore as she did the vampire race. And for Carling to be so powerful and ancient it seemed that she gave up through most of this book. But with Rune as her cheerleader she got better. And why wouldn't she Rune sounds like an extremely hunky fellow. I still don't see how someone as intelligent and powerful as she was could let that nuthead do what they did. Go read this for yourself and you shall see what I am talking about. And in this one we got glimpses of the whole gang from previous books which is always fun. All and this one was a good solid read but not quite as enjoyable as the first two and the excerpt from the next one has me salivating over it. I want it like now.
I bought this one for my personal use and I give it 3 1/2 stars.

2. Review: Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison
Thea Harrison
Product Description
He’s a wyr warrior, a god of storms. She’s the heir to the Dark Fae throne. But desire will bring both to their knees in this all-new Novel of the Elder Races.
During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle “Tricks” Periwinkle found sanctuary among the wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle’s death, there are those who don’t want to see her ascend to the throne…Able to wield thunder and lightning, wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the wyr’s best weapons. And he’s sent to protect Tricks when she’s almost assassinated in Chicago.
Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them—a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds…
I thought Ms. Harrison's first book Dragon Bound was fantastic but to me this one was better. I love the hero in this one. Can you say tortured hero. He rocks and the way he treats Tricks is fantastic. And I really liked her. Even though she was younger than him she didn't take any of his crap. And she really comes into her own in this book. I love the way this book ended and can't wait to read the third and fourth and any more she writes in this series.
I give this one 5 stars and I bought this one myself. If you haven't read this series please do. You won't be disappointed.

1. Review Thea Harrison's Dragon Bound
Thea Harrison
Buy New $7.99
Temper is Not Easily Extinguished
Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful–and passionate—of the Elder Races.
As the most feared and respected of the wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in one another.
I was late to these books but I love them. This one in particular I really liked cause I love dragon shifters and Dragos is the top shifter of the bunch. Pia was tough heroine. And the cast of character in Ms. Harrison's books were fantastic. I wanted to join this and meet these characters in person. I really lost myself in this world. I wasted no time in purchasing the second one in this series and that is not my usually mo. Most times I can wait but this is one of those series where you have to devour these books as soon as they are available. I have the third one now and its near the top of my tbr pile.
I give this one 5 stars and I bought it myself and my opinion in my own. Run go buy this series. If you love dragons or any other type of paranormal creature then you need to read this series.

Lisa Renee Jones: Sterling Guest Post and Giveaway
With the end of October, I am still thinking about ghosts and in THE STORM THAT IS STERLING – Sterling is a tormented hero with a few ghosts of his own – the kind you can’t escape but leaving a haunted house!

Sterling Jeter has remarkable powers and has shown himself
to be just about indestructible. But beautiful, brilliant Rebecca
Burns knows that even a Super Soldier needs comfort, and so
much more…
But she can see that deep down,
he’s just a man…
Sterling and Rebecca’s teenage romance was interrupted,
but years later the heat between them flares back to life.
Even though it endangers everything they’re fighting for, it’s
impossible to resist picking up right where they left off…

Many of my stories have paranormal elements, and certainly my Vampire Wardens have Vampires and Werewolves. A few of my other books, like Beast of Darkness, deal with ghosts and demons. Even in a fictional world I find those creatures from otherworlds scarier than those different beings from our world. Perhaps, because a ghost or a demon, seem so possible. My DH has a couple really freaky ghost stories. One where he was frozen and unable to move while staying in a haunted place. That same night, his buddy got scared and went to the house next door. Everyone with DH thought he came back. They SAW him. He didn’t. The entire story is creepy and will give me chills every time I hear it.
As for my own ghost story? My ex’s parents lived on a country property in North Carolina. When we first moved there we spent a month living with them while we found a home. The place was spooky and it was said the prior owner died there and stayed around. One night I was in the basement that was converted to an apartment and my ex and his parents went on errands. I heard footsteps walking across the living room and rushed upstairs to welcome them home. They weren’t there. I sat on the corner of the couch and stared at the room, unmoving, no television on, for the next thirty minutes until everyone got home. I was scared to death from that point on in that house.
So tell me your scary story for a chance to win a goodie bag of books and bath and body shop goodies!
