Review When Blood Calls by JK Beck
Product Description
Attorney Sara Constantine is thrilled with her promotion—until she finds out that she must now prosecute vampires and werewolves. The first defendant she’ll be trying to put away? Lucius Dragos, the sexy stranger with whom she recently shared an explosive night of ecstasy.
When Lucius kisses a beautiful woman sitting next to him at the bar, he’s hoping only to avoid the perceptive gaze of the man he’s planning to kill. But what starts as a simple kiss ignites into an all-consuming passion. Charged with murder, Luke knows that Sara is determined to see him locked away—unless he can convince her that he’s not a monster. And that might mean making the ultimate sacrifice.
Sara is a hard core prosecutor who's father was murdered before her eyes by a man that got off on a technicality. She believes in law and order but cannot deny she was pleased that someone murdered him shortly thereafter. She is hired to work in the paranormal version of DA prosecutors office with all that entails.
Luke is a vampire that believes in justice but that there are grey areas in the law. And he has taken the law into his hands more than once and did again to avenge his ward.
Through in a were uprising, a human serial killer who preys on little girls. and investigator with an ax to grind and you have one fantastic read. This is the paranormal book version of the TV show law and order. This was an interesting read but the ending you could see coming halfway through the
book. Though all and all a very enjoyable read with a fascinating world I can't wait to read more of in the next book in the series. I give this one 4 stars.
I received a copy of this book from the author to review. No other compensation was given.

Review - Tracker's Sin By Sarah McCarty
WED BY NECESSITY…JOINED BY DESIRE
Before his trade became his name, “Tracker” Ochoa was a scrawny Mestizo runaway. Now as fearsome as he once was frightened, he’s joined the notorious Hell’s Eight...and they have a job for him.
He must rescue kidnapped heiress Ari Blake and deliver her safely to the Hell’s Eight compound—by any means necessary. Turns out that includes marrying her, if he means to escort her and her infant daughter across the Texas Territory. Tracker hadn’t bargained on a wife—especially such a fair, blue-eyed beauty. But the erotic pleasures of the marriage bed more than make up for the surprise.
Tracker’s well-muscled bronze skin and dark, dangerous eyes are far more exciting than any of Ari’s former debutante dreams. In the light of day, though, his deep scars and brooding intensity terrify her. But he’s her husband and she’s at his mercy. With the frontier against them and mercenary bandits at their heels, Ari fears she’ll never feel safe again.
Tracker, too, remembers what fear feels like. Though he burns to protect Ari, to keep her for himself always, he knows that money, history—and especially the truth—can tear them apart.
Well I've finally got to read this book. I have been wanting Ari's book since I read Caine's Reckoning. I mean I've been seriously lusting after this book. Sarah did not disappoint. The plot of this book had some serious twist to it in order to let Ari and Tracker get close and I don't want to give them away but dayumn the way Sarah wrote this book rocks. It's also has several scenes that was so funny I about peed my pants re the diaper scene. When you read it you'll know what I mean. This book was very emotional on all levels. There was some fantastic fight scenes and a heroine when she finally comes into her own is hell on wheels And to take on one of the Hell's Eight she'd have to be. The only thing that I didn't like about this book was the length. Too dang short and some things were left unfinished to me. Not as detailed as normal. Sarah you seriously need to write longer stories. Your promise books have spoiled me. And hurry up with Shadow's book. You left the boy on the edge of a cliff with one foot slipping.
I give this book 4 1/4 stars.
PS. in the blurb from manufactor above it states Ari has a girl not so it was a boy in the book.
For disclosure purposes I recieved a free ecopy of this story from Netgalley and wasn't given other compensation other than that for my review of this story.
