Review: Devil in Disguise by Cynthia Eden

Don’t make the devil angry…
Luke Thorne loves having one hell of a good time. As the ruler of every dark creature to walk the earth, he certainly has more than a bit of a bad side. He lives for danger and isn’t the type to lose his heart—mostly because he doesn’t have one. Then she walks into his life.
Mina James is seduction in the flesh, a perfect temptation that the devil himself couldn’t pass up. Too late, Luke realizes he’s let a real siren into his life, a woman who is bent on using his dark powers to free herself from hidden enemies. Since Luke isn’t the type of man to be used, he should walk away from her, but…something about Mina draws him close.
Soon he’s realizing that she isn’t who she appears to be. Not dark and cold, but burning red hot. Mina is a woman fighting for her life—and the Lord of the Dark suddenly finds himself in an unlikely role…hero. Luke isn’t going to let her enemies destroy Mina. He will fight heaven and hell to keep her. But in the end, the secrets they both carry may just rip apart a love that should never have been…
There are Bad Things in the world…very, very bad. Are you ready for them?

I just want to say that I love Cynthia Eden's paranormal books and this one was a really good one. I really like Luke. He's supposed to be a bad guy but I didn't see it. To me he comes off as a typical person. Not all good and not all bad. And Mina she's kinda of between a rock and a hard place but she doesn't give up. She tenacious and I really liked that. The bad guys though they were human they were truly evil. And the kind of the characters that needed killing. I must say that this story included a new to me paranormal but one I wasn't fond of at least in Cynthia's world. Even though they are one of the "good" paranormals but definitely one that I wouldn't want to be.
Only thing with this book that I wished was changed was that the love seemed rushed and the backstory wasn't explored to my satisfaction. I hope that with the next book being Julian's that we get the whole story with what happened between him and his vampire Rose because that story caused some of the bad stuff in this story to happen.
I give this book 4 stars and was given it via Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
