I know I say this every time but this is my absolute favorite Nalini Singh book. I didn't think i would like Viper but dayumn he is perfect for Holly.  He can be an ass a sexy one but an ass none the less and he is great to have in your corner. And he treats Holly like an equal and unbroken which is what she needs. And Holly might be a newbie paranormal but she is powerful and growing more so  If they can avoid the people who are trying to kill her then they just might get their happy every after. Unless Holly grows too powerful and Raphael has to put her down that is if Elena would let him.

Something watched them – not some one, not anyone in the knot of uniformed police and civilians gathered at the doors into the restaurant's kitchen.             Kat would've bet her next paycheck that Roger was wishing his and Paul's positions were reversed.

About the Author:

A native of Tyler, Texas, Pat Blair lived for a few years on the Texas coast, in the Rockport and Corpus Christi area, before moving to Sheridan, Wyoming, since 1986. Writing as P.L. Blair, she finished her first book in her Portals series – Shadow Path – in 2008 while still employed as a reporter at The Sheridan Press newspaper. After taking a short semi-retirement, she resumed working as a reporter for Sheridan Media, a company that boasts nine radio stations and a website, sheridanmedia.com, in 2013. Blair's writing career was briefly disrupted by a – fortunately small – heart attack in January 2016, but with medications and a change in diet, she's recovered and back on track. The Center

No one speaks when you enter the Center for the last time. There’s no need. You’ve gone through the counseling, tests, and a checklist of preparations to get the plastic bracelet you wear the day of treatment. The one that saves a life. They don’t need to know why you’re doing it any more. Or that you lied about it all. Just the scratch of the stylus as you sign your name on the screen one last time.

A nurse takes me into a room and I lie down on the table. I give her the sealed packet—the only thing I brought with me. There’s cash, meds, and an address inside, the one for “after.” It’s a thousand miles away. She’ll pass it to the companion assigned to me. No point meeting her now.

Review: Nice Guys Bite by Jennifer Estep

This is a novella set in Jennifer Esteps Spider's world and while Gin and the rest of the gang are in it they are not the star of this story.  Silvio, Gins right hand vampire is front and center in this story.  While he's been in many of the books I didn't know much about him except that he was a vampire, a snazzy dresser, and as organized as the energizer bunny is hoppy.
This book starts out with him going on a date for which Gin was happy but it is obvious from the beginning that this wasn't going to be an ordinary boy out with boy date. He smells a set up so he tries to get his date Mitch to leave.
It soon becomes obvious well at least to me that this was a setup. And so Silvio does what Gin normally does. He kills them all and lets God sort them out. I bought this book with my own personal money and I loved it and loved getting to know more about the secondary characters in Gin's world.  This one wouldn't be a good read for someone who wasn't already familiar with that world. This is definitely not a stand alone story. But I give it 5 stars and can't wait for the next story in this series.
